The Strategic Operations Manager will report directly to the Founder & CEO.

Job Overview

Alejo Communication is a growing multiregional consulting firm that leverages the tools and techniques of the theater to deliver unforgettable training & coaching programs. We train actors and improvisors to become elite facilitators, coaches and role players in order to deliver dynamic, practice-oriented development programs for growing companies in a variety of industries – health care, law, accounting, finance, education, and more. The Strategic Operations Manager will provide leadership, guidance and direction to staff in alignment with Alejo’s high standards and growth goals. This is a key leadership position that is poised to play a central role in Alejo’s continued expansion, and one that is positioned to grow with the company.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Direct Operations – Work with CEO and Executive Assistant to plan, organize and manage resources, including HR, Financial and data systems. Provide inputs and support in project planning, budget preparation, resource and time management.
  • Lead Accounts – Manage clients and provide stewardship for ongoing programs.
  • Optimize Processes – Develop and implement processes within the company to maximize efficiency and allow for growth.
  • Develop Business – Participate in business planning meetings and prioritize business needs and set business goals. Manage Alejo’s New Business Pipeline and use it to generate meaningful recommendations.
  • Provide Vision & Strategy – Manage & lead change initiatives, identify business operational areas that need improvements and propose appropriate action plans. 

Work Hours

This is a work-from-home role with flexible hours. There will be occasional need to attend in-person meetings or networking opportunities, so the ideal candidate is based in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) but open to candidates willing and able to travel. As mentioned above, this role is poised to expand with the business, according to one’s appetite and capacity.

Salary Range

$60K base with additional variable pay opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Arts Enthusiast – You have a background as a practitioner or patron of the arts, and are fluent in the arts’ role in developing social and emotional skills.
  • Strategic/Analytical – You are comfortable with Google/Excel Sheets, have an appetite for drawing strategic insights from data, and see the value in automation and efficiency.
  • Communication – You are an excellent written and verbal communicator that is willing to adopt Alejo’s unique blend of warmth and professionalism in all your business interactions.
  • Team Player – You collaborate enthusiastically and draw energy from serving clients, brainstorming with peers and developing in-house talent.
  • Motivated – You can function autonomously, are growth-oriented and have a bias for action.
